I make these not only because of my love for these awesome creatures, but because sharks just look so damn cool. They are the epitome of exquisite natural design. A creature whose evolution had already reached near perfection millions of years ago.
Bruce states that: I fell in love with the ocean and it's extraordinary creatures at a young age from watching Jacques Cousteau on TV. I have been scuba diving for about 45 years, and have had quite a few amazing shark experiences. I have always been fascinated by sharks, and I think they are one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet. I love to watch them swim, and find them absolutely mesmerizing. I have been lucky enough to scuba dive among tiger sharks, blue sharks, nurse sharks, angel sharks, and I have gently handled several horn sharks. My love of these creatures has made them the subject matter of several of my sculptures over the years, and I will continue to use them as inspiration in the future. |
